Saw this almost perfect set of drill bits for installing a variety of tuners and general cigar box use at Bunnings yesterday.
The step drill has a 6 to 8 step for perfectly centered grommets on 6mm shaft tuners. It does this in one go on a uke thickness heads but on guitar thickness you have to flip it over and drill in the last little bit from the 4 to the 6. Just shaving the back a touch using the 6 to 8 step cleans up the hole and helps the tuners sit flat.
The step drill also has a 10 to 8 step perfect for bolt down type sealed tuners. Unfortunately the 10 mm step is a touch short so the hole has to be either deepened a touch with a 10 mm bit or if you are lazy like me you can keep going and have a 12 mm oversize step in the back which is covered by the tuner.
The 6 mm saw drill is perfect for making straight tuner holes and tweaking them a touch to the up when you drill crooked and the back of the tuner wont sit flat. Not real good at what it says it is for though. It really does not cut well.
Countersinking bit - always handy Another one to have in my tool kit will increase my odds of being able to find one when I need it.
Cone bit - sound hole maker - might be a touch small for some peoples tastes.
