longer box, shorter neck?

I am about to start a build using a 11" long box, my previous build was with a 8" box, SO will this make my new neck 3" shorter? using 24.5" scale, taking in to acount bridge position. I know its my sound like a stupid question but i am new to all this Thanks for your input..

  • You can go with a 25.5 scale,.like a stratocaster. If you make your necks with 21 or 22 frets,..make the neck with 19 frets instead and your bridge will be further back on the box. It looks kinda odd when a bridge is close to center of a box.

  • thanks, thought it would be, just puts bridge around middle of box..
  • leave the neck the same length compensate with your bridge
