I like to sing and play blues, I really like the key of E and just finished a CBG and would like the open tuning of E. Using the first 3 of a set tuning E A e would that be the open E tuning. It would be the I-E V-A and the D tuned up to I-e. Does that sound right to you guys. That should give me the I-V-I in the key of E.

E-A-e will give open A of sorts. (Someone will correct me if I'm wrong on this)
To get open E tuning you need E-B-e. The tuning you suggest will be very useful to blues playing though.
