Shielding Alternatives?

In the spirit of my last question, I was wondering.... Has anyone used aluminum flue tape to shield boxes/pickups? I've heard that aluminum foil can be used as a poor-man's shielding.... True? If so, would the flue tape work too? I actually don't know how prices compare between flue tape and the conventional stuff, but I have this pathological need to use as many things from plumbing/hardware departments in my builds as possible....

    Maybe. It's the stuff plumbers use to seal the joints in furnace flues and stuff. Silvery aluminum, heat resistant....

    I use aluminum duct tape. and so does my buddy that owns a store and wires alot. it sticks and it shields.Is that the same thing as flue tape?
