Hi All,
I am not quite sure what triggered my desire to build a cigar box ukulele, other than I am interested in playing the ukulele. Anyway, I just started reading up on fingerboards and scale lengths and decided to give it a try. Basically I am winging it on this first instrument (other than the fingerboard). Even though I don’t have all the parts I want yet, I have used temporary bits of hardware for the nut and saddle and I am very pleased by the sound. It is my plan to build two more ukes (tenor and baritone) a bass and a diddley bow. I am not a musician and just want to play these things for my own amusement.
Since I started this project I have been poking around the web for tips and I want to thank everyone who has shared their knowledge and experience so generously on the internet.

Still waiting on delivery of the nut and saddle. They are coming from China. I put the fret wires in over the weekend using my Black and Decker Workmate as an arbor press. It went pretty well.
I have some beginners videos on my page here. Check them out, it might save you some headaches down the road. Welcome to the Addiction.
