Welcome to your new addiction!
Hi Where are you thinking of getting one from???
Sorry bit late getting back , I'm in Suffolk , looking at West End music in Ipswich , they have a guy that makes them , wanna have a play before parting with cash , i think the guy that makes them is called nineboys , some thing like that , don't seem a lot CBG going on around here , any advise would be good, gotta about £100 to spend to start with.
cheers Dave
Hi Dave. I'm not sure if you've taken the plunge yet, but I'm familiar with Nineboys' CBGs (they sell them in the same local music shop they sell mine) - a small word of caution: they are definitely slide only - very high action & fretless. They are also very 'no frills', with a rough finished painted neck. Depends what kind of player you are/want to be really, but I'm guessing as you've come from an acoustic background you may prefer the familiarity of frets. I'm by no means deriding them as they have the pure 'primal' characteristic in spades :) Probably wouldn't cost you too much more to get a fretted one with lower action, or if you have the inclination, you could make one!
Welcome to the Nation.

Thanks for that Rick , not got one yet , it was just that they stock them in my local music shop , would like to do my own one but not great with anything like that, so thought I would try a ready made one , any other makes worth looking at ? got about £100 to make me the new Bo Diddley ,

Check out cigar box guitars on you tube...remember they will have reverb and a bit off echo...and distortion...I run a soprano ukulele through a small pignose amp,,,the distortion is great...Im making a 3 string guitar box it looks the easiest to play GDg...get back and let us know what they are like!
