Hi, my name is Dave. Here's the story of how I came to Cigar Box Nation.
My son was born in July, I went out and bought cigars; bubble gum cigars! Anyhow, the cashier at the tobacco shop gave me a real cigar box to put them in. As a more apt tribute to the birth of my son, I got the idea to make an instrument out of it! I have really enjoyed the build so far and Cigar Box Nation has been an invaluable resource...
Basically, I bought a kit from CBGitty.com. It included everything except the cigar box. I also had to make the neck brace and bridge block myself.
Neck brace made out of pallet:
Fret board glue up:
Finishing the neck:
My son's birth certificate will be visible through the sound hole:
It's coming together nicely!
To be continued...

Sorry it's been so long posting up the completed instrument. Life is very hectic with a new born! Anyhow, here she is:
Added some nylgut (sounds MUCH better!) strings and strap buttons.
It looks great. Nice bridge.
Nice build. Welcome and Congratulations.
Welcome Dave, and congratulations! Nice looking build, too. Bubblegum flavoured cigars though? Haha!
