Mercedes from Birmingham, AL

Hi y'all, I just got my first cbg this weekend from Roger Martin in Gatlinburg, TN and joined up to learn more about how to play, and eventually, perhaps build.  Who am I kidding, I'd love to build.  I'm already eying a cookie tin, i just need to wrap my brain around the concept.

I've loved the blues, bluegrass, and string band music for a long time, but the only instrument (not including the bass drum in high school band, haha) I tried recently was the harmonica.  A harp is not the sweetest sounding thing in the hands of a newb, and my Siamese cat would get in my face and yowl in protest whenever I practiced, and I think I was driving my husband nuts, but he was too nice to say so.

My cbg on the other hand, doesn't seem to make waves even if I'm making some odd sounds with it.  And even after a few days, some of the sounds I'm making even resemble music, occasionally.  :-)

I'm a transplanted Yankee from Connecticut by way of Savannah, GA, and have been in Birmingham for 10 years with my husband, who's from here.  I'm a freelance knitwear designer and yarn dyer by trade.
