I have not really introduced myself before I thought it was about time I should. My name is Bobby and I live in southwest Virginia right at the crossroads of the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Crooked Road, Virginia's heritage music trail. I love all kinds of music but old time southern string and bluegrass really resonate with me. I grew up hillbilly where you make it and make do. That motto is strong in appalachian music. I started making intruments about 6 or 7 years ago with one string canjos. Now I said I love music but I have absolutely no talent for it. I mean zero. So starting with simple canjos allowed me to do some playing. However I have always wanted to play fiddle. So I made first one, I learned alot from that build primarily that instument making is not something that you have to spend years apprenticingto do and is not possible by the common man with common tools. So now I have made many canjos, some fiddles, a couple of banjos(...can't play them at all), a half finished ukulele( ..hope to learn to play). Someday I want to attempt a guitar. I just like tinkering. It is one of the big things I love about this community, its a group that takes some object and sees so much more potenial in it. It really shows off creativity and ingenuity. Yall are awesome.
