I was looking for a challenge!

Hi

I am obviously new here so thought I better introduce myself.

I am in the UK and currently on long term sick leave after a motorcycle accident. With the last 9 months as spare time with not being able to go anywhere I thought I would challenge myself and learn to play an instrument..so I bought a 5 string Banjo. Well after a few months of trying it turns out that my sausage fingers would appear not to be cut out for Banjo playing so have now decided to try something a little more raw and free..... CBG!

I am going to start working my way through the CBG 101 discussion to get some back ground info but any heads up would be appreciated. I have no musical back ground and as you may have guessed not much of a clue when it comes to playing instruments.

I have a US Licence plate and fancied using this as my first 3 string build. My initial plans are to build a box and screw this down as the top. I had considered it being acoustic but would like to achieve a nice tone so maybe electric might be better? Again I have no idea on guitar electrics so a lot of home work needs to done there on either piezo or magnetic pick ups, position in the box and which is best etc for my build and why.

Well that about it for now. Hopefully I can find all I need in the 101 discussion but if not I hope my questions are not too repetitive!
