hi there!

new guy here from Indianapolis, Indiana, but originally from waaaay southern Indiana.  i just discovered this site and joined up yesterday.  i already have a question posted in the "beginners" section.  i'm ion the process of finishing up a stomp box and wanting to start a CBG build.  i have a few boxes, but that's it.  there's a lot to read on here!

  • Hey, welcome to the circus. Once you build one that comes out successfully you'll be building them forever. just look at as many photos and close ups of people's builds as you care to...you'll start picking and choosing details or build methods that feel right to you. Just go a little slow at first, makes straight cuts, clamp and glue and screw solidly -- and then finesse the nut and bridge heights once you have it strung up...my first CBG strung up poorly the first time, weird action, sounded crappy -- but i switched the nut and bridge bolts around and it was suddenly great.

also remember that brand new strings will sound a tad, um, not good,,,usually too pingy and zingy and pitchy...but once they stretch a bit and break in for a few hours you'll be shocked.
