Hello from Washington State

Hi there.

First, I tried posting this 10 minutes ago but I lost it somehow. Well, I obviously just found it. Forgive me, I am old and confuse easily................................

I hope I am sticking this in the right place. I am just trying to learn my way around in here.

I am older and retired however I am still quite good looking. I have been playing guitar for a few years, all being 6 string acoustic and I finger pick. Right now I am concentrating on Nick Drake songs. His songs fascinate me with their odd tunings and his picking styles.

Anyway, I have been curious about cigar box guitars for some time now. In my area I can't find any to look at first hand so I have been snooping on the internet. I have about 12,347 questions about them and as soon as I can find the right place to put them I will post a few. I have learned that I will want a 3 string cbg with a pickup. Also that I doubt that I have the tools nor the skills to build one but have found quite a few on the net that have piqued my interest.

Until then I will be snooping and reading and in general ignoring my honey-do list.

  • "I am older and retired however I am still quite good looking."

That's obvious by your picture. No reason to rub it in.

    "I have about 12,347 questions "

That's just getting warmed up. Bring em' on!

I doubt you can build one either. Almost no one can.

I would suggest you plan to build three at minimum.

Just don't go annoying people by not sharing your progress and some tunes.

Welcome. You have found a good place!

  • Grow DOWN dude, your age and abilities have NOTHING to do with your enjoyment of life, CBGs and even illicit relationships with chikkin foot blues players....
    • Roger that Marcus. Age is just a number, not a sign of what you do.

  • You say "old and confuse easily" as if it's a bad thing. Just part of the aging process. Growing older is mandatory, growing UP is optional. I'm getting a bit gray around the edges, but I'm still looking at the top side of the dirt. Life is good on the lunatic fringe. Welcome to the Nation.
