My name is Rob - and I'm a Blues fan. I grew up in Memphis back in the glory days. When I retired a couple of years ago I decided to learn how to play the music that I love. I've got Fenders, Peaveys, imports, domestics, Teles, Strats, P basses, J basses and hollow bodies. How was I to know that the sound I had been looking for came from a cigar box???? I just bought my first CBG on ebay and while doing research I found Cigar Box Nation. I would like to meet some peole here and do some jamming. Anyone on here from the Tampa Bay area???

Yes - Sun Records, Elvis, Johnny Cash, etc but also Stax Records, Booker T and the MG's (Memphis Group), Isaac Hayes, Rufus Thomas, his daughter Carla Thomas, The Box Tops, The Gentrys, and a great but not well known group called the Bar Kays. The list goes on and on - and that's without mentioning people like Cybill Sheperd or Kathy Bates. Great place and time to be a teen.
