Greetings from Wisconsin

Greetings to all you fellow CBG fans.  I recently saw a report on TV about a guy who started building CBGs as therapy following a heart attack.  Since I've been wanting to build a guitar, that struck me as a cool way to get up to speed.  Also, I play bass in a blues band (www.littlebluesmachine.com) and love that funky delta slide sound.

My first build went surprisingly fast. Here's what I've got so far.  I still need to mount the pickup and glue some parts in place but it already plays pretty well.    OK, I'm hooked.

  • Aloha,

The box would have Habana stamped on the bottom if they where cuban.  I just thought you may have a friend in Canada that smoked them and gave you the box. I have a Cohiba box from cuba, it was full and a gift on my wedding day from my father inlaw, they where fantastic.

I will send you a pic later.

    Cheers,

  • Welcome, great  looking CBG. Are those deminican cohibas?

    • They are.  You can tell by the red dot inside the 'O'.   I assume a Cuban Cohiba box would be hard to find here in the USA.

  • Thanks for the kind words.  I'm already seeing potential guitar parts in all kinds of "junk".

  • Nice job! I'm sure it is just the first of many!
  • That's pretty damn sweet for a first effort! Welcome David and here's to many more.
