Good vidios

It's getting late and I just happened to stumble onto this group. I've made a few cbgs and I am not an accomplished luthier. I started out using files to shape the neck and after the second on I decided that was too much of a work out. Then my eyes settled on an old Stanley spokeshave and I haven't used a file since. I'm in the process of making a couple of resonator guitars. One from a license plate and one from a metal cigar box lid and I think I might have a few questions but I'll wait until I decide what and how I want to ask the question. It's getting late anyway.

Looking forward to your discussions.

  • 4-in-hand rasps still have uses, such as carving heels.  Saves time to use the same radius as the file face as the inside radius of the heel block.  Spokeshaves still can't be beaten for the rest of the job, make a neck that just plain feels good in your hands.
