Hi I'm just completing a build and it has a lipstick pickup at the neck and a strat type pickup at the bridge.
The lipstick pickup is a piece of crap, but I had never used one before, it's chrome is as soft as can be as well so I think it originated in China, the sound is very thin. Can anyone reccomend a surface mounted pickup, with a bit of warmth, and oomph.
Thanks in advance Phil

i suggest you contact dan sleep .http://www.cigarboxnation.com/profile/Iggy for a thinbucker , he can probably adjust to size etc.. for you too . or the original flatpup man Elmar http://www.cigarboxnation.com/profile/ElmarZeilhofer . dans are just as good, as they are in partnership.
or pop a teisco gold foil on there ;-)
Strange. Lipsticks are usually quite good.
Have a look through the alumitone discussion and see if you can manage to hook up a homemade alumitone.
The guys have been refining these for a while now and can sort you out with a simple build (probably).
