Don't know if anyone else has tried this or not, but I have found with many of my builds, especially with a neck through design that using 1/8 inch "pop" rivets with the nail knocked out makes an excellent bushing where the string goes through the tail. I use them top and bottom of the tail and are also easy to paint if wanted. A few years ago I picked up a bag of 100 for $1.00. A penny a bushing---not bad.

Yes, I do that too, especially on my more "old-school primitive" builds.
that's old school
Thanks Randy for the comment but not all of us are "old school"
They work great. I always run a drill bit thru them after they have been installed, The small nuts off bicycle spokes are great also, available at eBay or your local bike shop
Been using them for a while now, they work great! I bought about 20 big tubs of hardware from a lumberyard that changed distributers and didn't want the old hardware and such, bought 20 large bins of brand new hardware for $50. One of the bins had about 3,500 1/8" rivets in there along with the same amount of 3/16" on up. I should have enough for a few more gits :-)
Those look good I used roll pins
yes, many of us do the same.
