hey guys so anyways i just wanna say that my first five builds, i glued 1x1 supports to the bottom of the box, then a 1/4x2 on top of them, and then i made my holes for the neck so that the neck doesnt rest against the very top of board but closer to the middle. my thinking was that it may help reduce the tension of the neck and prevent as much warping of it. whenever you open the box, there's a 1/4" gap or so from the top of the box. the next 5 builds, i cut the neck slots the "traditional" way by opening the lid and slicing throgh the top of the sides of the box with only enough space for the lid. this way is much more simpler, but i swear im getting a better tone by setting the neck lower....i know this kinda defies theory but i'd like to know if any of you have ever done this and which way, if any, works better for you....
