Pickup height

I have a question about pickup height. What distance should there be between the strings and the pickup surface? I have a mini humbucker with double rails from suntek. Anyone have some advise?

    Ditto with Marty's comment. Too close to strings, and sustain suffers. Too far away and the output is thin.

    Anywhere from 5 mm to 10 mm...I try to keep it around 6 mm...but it can depend on how powerful each pickup is.
