Did I fry my pot?

Hi all, working on a stomper tonight and thought I would add a piezo/volume/jack. Isoldered everything together as a harness before installing it. Got it all wired up and working, the thing is, is that my volume pot has no stops. It just keeps turning and turning. I just grabbed a new pot from the bag, didn't try turning it before soldering it. Defective pot? Or did I cook it while soldering? Thanks in advance

    its much harder to cook a pot than ppl would have you believe..

    capacitors are the ones to be very careful with

    Problem solved. Bent shaft. Straightened it back and all is well.
