Wow, that brass is really nice! How does it effect the sound?
The hard-core luthiers say you can adjust the afterlenght (between tail and bridge) to be a particular length to vibrate sympathetically. They adjust the tailpiece gut to just the right length. Ive never gone that far into tweaking.
the brass is very thin (0.2mm), I don't think there is a noticable difference in sound, but I'll check it out.
The afterlength sure does, although I didn't tune it. There is a nice sustain rich in overtones which might be related to the stiff box itself with the bridge placed right in the middle. I used a normal 008 guitar string set (ADGe) and tuned it to GDAe
