Has anyone ever used a tin or a metal resonator on a fiddle?
I just had an idea to try to use an altoids tin on a backpacker size fiddle.

I have used a long, thin but unfortunately deep tin box as a fiddle body.Sounds O.K, but needs heavier strings. I have always likes the idea of a resonator fiddle since seeing pictures of 'National' type fiddles and mandolins, and would love to build something on those lines during the year.
