Oh, it was a video. Sorry I can't see most videos from China. I need to right click on Adobe Flash videos to know the player was loaded. The other kinds of videos just time out, so they are easier to detect.
You can build a banjo using a resonator if you like. Some purist may argue a banjo has to have a drum, but I'm not one of those guys. You can also play banjo with a slide. Whether you get that old Delta Blues sound out of a resonator banjo and slide, I couldn't say. But, my guess is that it's more a factor of the skill level of the player than the instrument. I recall seeing some Youtube videos of a banjo player playing slide on his banjo. It may have been Patrick Castello.

Yeah Rand, its a video of a hybrid instrument played with a slide for a somewhat unusual effect.
