Some time back ( a few months now ) I started my first build with the purchase of a couple of small boxes. I glued them together and then sat. Reading and trying to figure out what I would do next besides stall.
Well I finally bought a stick of maple form the local H.D., but then let it sit.
Today I finally figured out somewhat, what my plan was. I cut the stick in half and glued it up. The thought is: When dry, I will angle cut the end for a scarf neck. In the mean time I will look for some wood for the fret board. Then rig the box to accept the neck ( how, to be decided ).
And that should pretty much finish the big stuff. Tuners, nut, bridge, etc should have me done hopefully sooner than IT HAS TAKEN ME TO get this far :)
HERES SOME PICS SO FAR
Any one try anything other than Kerosene in their garage heaters ? I have a Dyna'Glo kero heater and the price of the fuel for that thing is WAAAy outta line with my pocketbook. And I have read some use diesel, various grades of fuel oil, about everything but gasoline.
As it is used only in the shop, whats the thoughts out there in CGN land on this ?

Wild loking stuff there Shawn. For sure my stuff wont be coming out like that for a while.
I did start on a totally new build while the glue sets on the neck for the other. This one will have a tiny box I had laying around, and thought to be junk, SO NO PRESSURE !
OPPS, almost game time :>
Figured a pictures worth a thousand words. Dont know if it is better or not. Just how I did it. Will still have to hack some of the insides away, but figured in the end any additional support would be better.
Some out there that might have done tests of insides removed versus left in versus sound quality might chip in, but I figured hey, its a cigarbox.

Never seen two boxes glued together like that. Anxious to see how it works out.
Did you take out the joining box sides or leave them in for extra support?
