Well, I switched 'em and it's sounding pretty good. This is my first build and I used a cigar box and tuning keys that my little brother had in his room when he passed last summer. Most other parts were bought from C.B. Gitty. Still love my Swamp Witch but she's gonna be watchin' from the corner for a few days. :)
Thanks, guys. AP - the Swamp Witch is still kickin' like a champ! Still my favorite instrument in the house. I'm just finishing up on my first CBG build (4 string, fretted) and trying to wire a piezo/bridge pup to a volume knob and then to this type of input jack. I got it working last night but buzzes horribly...I'm heating up the gun to reverse the wires right now. :)
long time no see ;-) hope the witch is treatin ya well ;-)
can't really see the contacts in that picture ,, but .. you can always test it by just hooking it to a pickup .. if it buzzes a bit one way .. reverse it .
Sure someone will offer the answer, but wanted to simply include that one of the most important tools a builder should have is a multi-tester. That way one can figure out any number of questions or problems that arise when dealing with pickups & wiring. Cheers
