Need info on building a 4 string cigar box bass.
I'm thinking a uke size with 20" scale and am going to use ubass strings. I need to know what kind of pickups to use. I don't think a round pizeo will work because they are really high pitched. Maybe a piezo rod with an EQ? Any thoughts or path direction are welcome.
I searched here on the nation but didn't find much.

Here's my 21" scale with a rod piezo under the bridge https://youtu.be/eqI8oK2aM-k
I used a disc piezo through a pre amp.on one of mine. I do have to roll off the highs on the pre amp to get a decent tone. One of mine had a 20" scale but I liked the 21" scale better since the strings weren't quite as floppy.
U bass is 21” scale. The acoustic/electric model has an encased piezo bridge run through an acoustic preamp, so maybe a good place to start is a piezo rod/preamp like the cbgitty one that Shane demoed a while back? I remember there’s a bundle with piezo/preamp & jack at cbgitty?
