I just put together a beautiful cbg for a client and it has a piezo, a mag pickup, two volume controls, a three way switch and a tone control. It really sounds great. The only thing is, the tone control barely works. I used Ted Crocker's schematic and also a schematic for a regular guitar with the same configuration. I don't know why it is misbehaving this way. Any suggestions. It sounds great with the switching and the tone kind of works but....

As already mentioned, you probably need to clarify if the tone does not work well with the piezo or the magnetic pickup.
If it is the piezo, that is the nature of the beast, they just don't do much for a piezo.
If the problem is when you select the mag pup, then it is most likely either a wiring problem or you need a different value for the capacitor.
Glenn Reither worked out a solution for passive circuits here http://www.cigarboxnation.com/forum/topics/passive-tone-control-for...
Or you can add a preamp and send the whole output signal through it and control the whole tone.
What size Capacitor and Pot did you use? Do you have a link to the schematic?
I have a little guitar knowledge, and more electronics knowledge... Matching impedances with a piezo and a mag pup can get rather wonky. . .
