  • Hi Honsik,

You mount the pickup in the box lid suspended on 2 screws with which you can increase or decrease the pickup to the height required.  There is a previous discussion to show better what I mean. http://www.cigarboxnation.com/forum/topics/how-to-place-humbucker?x...

  • Hi Honsik,

You will get a sound without a preamp (some like the raw sound others prefer it preamped)- the preamp kits you get usually come with a piezo rod which plugs via a 2.5mm jack into the preamp and the preamp has the output jack either already attached or it attaches via a push and click locking connector.  To use it externally you just need a 1/4 inch to 2.5mm adapter plug and an extra guitar lead. So it would be guitar 1/4inch jack plug socket (as per normal). Normal guitar lead with one of these on the end

This goes into the preamp "piezo input" socket and the preamp will have another 1/4 inch output that you connect to your amp using the second normal guitar cable.

To wire up the above rod piezo/magnetis with a 3 way look at some of these http://artecsound.com/wiring/wiring_book01.pdf You just substitute the two wires from the piezo for one of the magnetic pickups for example on the telecaster diagram on page 11.If you don't want volume/tone (tone passive pots don't work on piezos) you just wire staight to the jack socket and omit the pots.

The piezo rods have a + wire wrapped around is the silver braid screen which is also the - wire. To wire it with a magnetic pickup you just snip off the 2.5mm jack twist the braid for the - and carefully strip the inner + wire.

For a magnetic pickup the coil tappable ones from suntek are great value http://www.suntekstore.co.uk/product-15006824-Humbucker+Pickup+for+... or in dollars http://www.suntekstore.com/goods-15006824-Humbucker+Pickup+for+Tele...

  • Use 2 disk piezos sandwiched between 2 pieces of wood and use this as the bridge, put a metal saddle for the strings on top. I don't use a pre amp with mine, but some tell me they work well with piezos. Sounds good this way with less feedback problems. Good luck. wire the 2 disks in parallel.
