So I picked up an Alec Bradley black market box today. It looks wicked cool but I'm not sure what to build I into. Just lookin to see if anyone else has done anything with these or has any ideas.
My only concern is on the neck if I make it flush with the lid, should I run the fingerboard onto the box to be level with the 1/4 inch cross piece. I think that would give it a nice look. I'm just not all that sure if my building skill is there yet. Anyone used the premanufactured fretted fingerboards from cbgitty? I was also thinkin of makin this one a ukulele.
Fingerboard level with the cross piece, put the bridge on top of the bottom cross piece and tuck a mag pup against the top one. Weather the neck and box, it will make a great "vintage" build that you can develop a good "history" for.
Nice box. I think either a simple build and trying for similar wood tone on the neck - or a banged up old relic look with a lot of soul. Nothing fancy or flashy. Do what the box tells you. Set it aside until you kind of know what to do.

I can visualize a great build out of that box. Then again, I visualize whirled peas. Love the look of it and the relic hiding inside.
