Tone woods MAY be of importance in acoustic builds, but not so much in electric.
The wood is just one thing is a combination of things that has an effect on tone. Strings .... bronze, nickel, wound, plain, steel -- gauge, vibrating length, etc ... this is were the sound starts nut....bone, wood, brass, cheep steel ( bolt) this transfers the sound to the wood bridge ..... same as the bridge, but more important in the fact it transfers directly to the soundboard Tailpiece ..... use it or not ( string thru) when I started using a fret at the string thru holes to protect the wood from the strings, I noticed a difference. size of box bigger ( and deeper ) is better. playing technique
I have used boxes others like, and hated it. I have used boxes others hate, and they sell fast.
Oh I see (sorry Petey) - If that is the case I doubt once the sound is captured on camera and played through a computer speaker you would hear the subtle differences.

I really think he was talkin' about the BOX tap test to try to figure how good or bad it will be for sound as a CBG.
