I like to use brass screws On a moveable wood base with a groove to sit the screw. Then u can mess with size of screw and underlying wood for adjustments. But what u got would look nicer no doubt.

Yeah they should work fine and I think it would look great. I was thinking about using a piece of fretwire in a bit of box liner as a bridge which should give a similar result.
You could use the top picture for a bridge. It would be a little low for my taste. I would put it on a piece of wood to bump it up a little. Anytime I use something smooth for a bridge, I like to file little string guides in them.
