I'm sure I just answered my own question about tuners, but I am going to ask anyway. I have yet to build my 1st CBG, and I am getting my supplies together. I have been wondering if the economy tuners from CB Gitty will work for me. I am a guitar player and know first hand what its like to play with tuners that fall out of tune. I could step up to Hipshot tuners but by the time I do this, I will have more wrapped up in tuner costs that the guitar itself. So, what kind of experiences have you all had with these tuners and would you be able to recommend them or  a better option. Thanx to you all.

thank you paul craig for helping out with this topic. tim

No problem. The Gitty sealed tuners are less than 17 dollars Us and a great deal.

I've bought some good products from China, not boycotting China made products, I assume you might be purchasing from the same seller. I've bought what I thought was the same item but from a different seller, they even used the same stock photos, and an entirely different quality part arrived. So there are good and bad sellers everywhere, but I've seen too many bad ones compared to good ones over the years. They steadily get better as time progresses, they realize the need to, in order to stay in business in such a competitive marketplace such as eBay.

Same thing back in the 60's and 70's with Japan made products, now you wouldn't hesitate to buy one of their products for the most part.

Thank you jim, I will look into the gotoh brand, can you use a uke tuner on a cbg ? is it the same size, I have not used a uke. thanx again for your support. Tim

The cheap ebay uke and guitar tuners look and feel the same to me.  I think both are pretty low end, and the quality is random. No staying in tune problems but maybe three out of 24 have stripped the gear when tuning up. The good news is that it's pretty easy to replace one. But for a little more money the enclosed tuners are better and worth it to me.

I will add that I got some really nice tuners from MGB for a good price.

Right UJ, I've bought a few good items from them, pickups etc. I think they sell on eBay as well

Thank you. I will look over there products.

thanx uncle John, I will look into MGB.

Guitarfetish.com is also a great place to parts, pickups and guitars. Their prices are higher than Gitty, the wait time for shipping is longer than Gitty and the shipping cost is higher than Gitty. So you have to weigh the options out there.

Good Luck with your builds.

yeah but the difference with MGB is a lot of their products(not all) are made in the USA

I can understand buying loyalty to a degree, sometimes cheap products are cheap products no matter who you buy from, Gitty does stand by their products even if some of their items are...."economy" and their service is impeccable.

And free shipping in the US is nice too.
