hi everyone! im brand new to the art of cbg building and have some questions before i get started. first off, where the neck goes thru the body do you want the top of the neck to be flush against the cigar box's lid? or do you want it to filed down so its not touch touching the lid at all. i thought this might mess with the resonance or something. i was thinking not touching so that you could put the pieso transducer right under the bridge. also i picked up a 3 prong 1/4 inch jack from radio shack its nickel plated. i know the third prong is a ground but would it make a difference if i got had a 2 prong 1/4? thanks your replys!

ok thanks! and another question, if i were to hot glue the piezo, do people suspend it in the hot glue or press it against the lid then hot glue it down.

Most people notch the thru' neck so the box top is free to vibrate.....but not everybody does it this way. It's not essential that the piezo is directly under the bridge.
With the jack, sounds like you've got a stereo or switched jack, instead of a mono jack but don't worry.
All you need to do make sure you wire to the lug which is continous with the body of the jack (ground), and the other which is connected to the tip contact (hot) - it should be pretty obvious by looking at it which these are - ignore the other lug and you should be OK.
