I was behind my sons barn when I spyed a beat up piece of barn siding and a piece of sheet metal roofing.
Is there something I should do to the wood to prevent splinters ect.?
Will roofing work for a top?
Any suggestions would be apreaceated .

So does this mean that the rain will get in and the cows will get out ???!!!!???
Most barn siding up here is hemlock and it can be splintery - I just put on a couple of coats of matte finish varathane. I would have preferred not to but... the weathered oak was fine unfinished.
If I use barn wood for the back will the roofing work for the top kinda like a license plate?
No reason it wouldn't work - may involve a bit more fiddling around to accommodate the ribs, etc. - I think it would look pretty cool.
Post a pic or two.
