Hello...I am looking for some info from our electronics experts. I am making two single pole sewing machine bobbin pickups for a three string cigar box guitar. They will be placed to the left and right of the center string in a staggered pattern. I also plan to install a rod piezo under an elk shin bone saddle. Two areas that I am looking for help with are 1) the single pole pickups will be approx one inch from each other, would it benefit me to wind them in opposite directions to avoid unnecessary hum and 2) I have a wiring harness with volume, tone, single on/off switch and a 5-way switch from a Gibson Nighthawk. I would like to have either the mag pups on or the just the piezo and a combo of both, so I am not sure what the 5-way switch does compared to the on/off switch. Any help is greatly appreciated.
