i am putting 3 wood screws and glueing this, small 3 string dulci-scale neck,to this box.i am going to glue a support to the inside.will it last"stand the test of time"????
I've done a few like this...4 string tenor, 2 string bass, and 6 string lapsteel. The tenor and bass are holding up just fine. The lap steel self destructed before I could get it tuned up to standard GBDGBD. I like to do one screw from the inside of the box like I see you have, and then two more from the outside through the heel of the neck. Otherwise, it'll pivot too much and will probably tear out a bit.
It depends on the joint design rather than the screws and glues. If the neck projects well into the box you'll be OK - generally a couple of decent screws work for all my necks.
Guitars have been made with bolt on necks like this for a while. most have a mortise and tenon joint though. not sure how this will hold up but its a similar design.
