It was bound to happen... first a Beatle (Paul McCartney) was seen with a cigar box guitar.  Now a Rolling Stone has one, too.

Legendary guitarist, Ronnie Wood has been filmed using a Daddy Mojo (www.daddy-mojo.com) 4-string acoustic cigar box guitar on his latest video, "How Can It Be."  Unfortunately, the video only gives a quick flash of him using it.

Watch the video here.

Fortunately for us, I was able to get the backstory on all this and learn about Ron's latest project through Daddy Mojo himself, Lenny Robert.

"Ronnie is re-recording some of his favorite Stones songs for a CD that will accompany his autobiography," Robert said. "I was in touch with his guitar tech, who has a Daddy Mojo in his arsenal."

"Ronnie was tracking some songs for the CD (his favorite contributions to the Stone's catalogue). One of them had an old blues standard vibe to it and he told his tech, 'a cigar box guitar would actually be the right tool for the job here.'"  Robert said Wood didn't knowing his tech already had a Daddy Mojo 4-string cigar box guitar at home.

Robert continues, "the next day of recording, the tech shows up at the studio with his guitar and Ronnie falls in love with it.  He forced his tech to sell him the guitar by offering a large sum of money!"  Robert adds, "I get wind of this when the tech's wife got in touch with me because he needed a new San Julia! [laughs]"

Ron Wood's autobiography, How Can It Be (with matching cd) will be released this month.  Find out more at www.ronniewoodbook.com
