Really Simple Mini Amp plans?

Hey All, Looking for really and I mean really simple mini-amp plans. I want to build an amp into the body of my next CBG using something like a 3" speaker. The more detail on exactly how to wire everything up the better. Thank you in advance Stefan

  • that looks like I might be able to handle it. Looks compact enough to fit right in the body of the guitar.

    Thanks!

Get one of these amp kits. http://store.qkits.com/moreinfo.cfm/QK17

Get one of these speakers. http://www.mouser.com/Search/ProductDetail.aspx?qs=sGAEpiMZZMuNFJjv...

Get 10-250k pot with spst switch for volume control and on off switch.

    Rough instructions.

    1. Build amp kit. Dont install the volume control that comes with kit. Follow instructions on adjusting for higher gain.
    2. Mount pickup, amp, volume control and speaker inside cigar box.
    3. Connect pickup wires to input of amp. Center or red conductor to hot and shield or black wire to ground.
    4. Connect speaker to amp output pins.
    5. Connect volume control (wired as variable resistor (o--o o) to pot on amp kit. Two wires.
    6. Connect battery ground wire in series with switch on volume control and amp kit negative battery. Connect battery plus (red) wire to amp kit. ( battery minus lead --->switch---->amp minus )
  • I like that idea !! Very easy and cheap. Nice work !
