A friend gave me a Fender single pup to have for my CBG. While inleting it into my neck I noticed it appears to be for a curved finger board. My CBG is flat and so is the neck. Can I file the center two pole pieces down to match the two adjacent ones?

Thanks for the replies. I'll use the pup as is for now. The magnet appears to be the bar mag under the pup, I think the pole pieces are just hard chrome plated steel rods that are bonded into the plastic bobbin. I don't think there is a direct connection between the rods and wiring. They should just be a press fit into the plastic. Anyway I will just use it as is and do a little more research for the future builds. Thanks again guys, it always pays off to ask first!
Do not file it down just use it as is. The metal files could get into the pickup and make it short out since it is basicly a big magnet and will suck the metal files in to it. I have used one like this on a flat neck CBG and the pickup worked fine.
