If anyone would be interested, one of the old timey musical instruments used by many performers in times past, all the way back to Egyptian era was the percussion instrument "bones" dried animal bones, usually rib bone were re,moved and dried and hit together to make a clicking clacking rhythm to accompany banjp, guitar , any musical works that needed a steady clicking beat. I have made many sets out of many different materail, bone, wood, metal, plastic. If anyone would like to make a set on the cheap the best I have come by without having to have dead animals or power equipment is to use 1/2 inch PVC water pipe. Cut into two pieces about 8 inches long, place in oven set at 200 degrees for 20 minutes, this will soften the material into a limber plastic. Have a wooden board handy about a foot long pull hot melty plastic pipe from oven and set in floor, place board on top of plastic while soft and step on board to flatten hot PVC pipe into a artificial cow rib , let cool for 15 mins. sand then remover other piece of PVC pipe and do the same again, Now you have a very good sounding set of BONES to learn how to play.

Somebody posted some videos of a guy playing the bones a looooooong time ago in one of theses groups? Check out bone dry music.com , they’ve got a bunch of bone clacker stuff. Also Lou Manna makes wood bones & clackers, he’s on here.
I am betting Randy Bretz can conjure something up. LOL
