  • No, the piezo needs to be securely adhered to the surface. The ceramic part (center) reacts to the vibrations to create a signal to the amplifier.

    Two things to consider...

    1) Location/placement...many builders place the piezo under the bridge, or close to it.

    2) For better tone/sound, try using two piezos, wired in parallel.
