0 Piezo Placement. Posted by Coppa Penny on April 19, 2013 at 3:13pm in Performances, How to Play, Lessons, Concerts Can a piezo be too firmly glued to the sound board? I have just glued a 40 mm piezo disc with epoxy glue and I am very disappointed with the result. Does it have to be able to vibrate? You need to be a member of Cigar Box Nation to add comments! No, the piezo needs to be securely adhered to the surface. The ceramic part (center) reacts to the vibrations to create a signal to the amplifier.
Two things to consider...
1) Location/placement...many builders place the piezo under the bridge, or close to it.
2) For better tone/sound, try using two piezos, wired in parallel.
