On my latest build I used two 20mm piezo pickups and before I attached them to the under side of the lid they picked up noise but once in place they don't seem to be picking up anything. I've double checked my wiring and can't find any issues. The only difference between this and my other builds is I got a my pot from radio shack. Is it possible it has the wrong specs for what I need?

Have you tried checking the wire connections with a multimeter?
What size/kind of pot did you use? It's not a push on/off by chance?
