Pickup Winder?

I was in Hobby Lobby the other day and saw one of these. It is a AA battery powered rubber band winder for model airplanes. The notched wheel fits over the prop, you squeeze the trigger and it winds up the rubber band motor. What was interesting is it has a visible internal winder that goes up to 999 revolutions. This might make a good pickup winder, you would just have to count in batches of 999 to get the total revolutions, No idea how much power, but it might be best if it is a little light so it wouldn't break wire easily. Anybody tried this?
