Go with the Gitty preamp and rod piezo setup for 15 bucks. It sounds fantastic and cuts out the top rubbing noises while playing. AAAA+. For 15 bucks you can't hardly buy lunch!
Kel, I assume you want an onboard preamp, uncomplicated, hidden or without the equilizer controls and such that are commonly included. And that you arent keen on building one from scratch.
You will have to consider the decision between passive and active, but I would choose active for the additional line boost and tonal range.
are you goind magnetic or piezo it is a replacement kind of for strats you replace 1 tone pot i would go mag, pup and it will be sweet if sound isnt to funky this digital stuff can come close to actual sounds cheap way for tube tone
