Here's a strange one just did the wiring for my next build and when I tested it the volume won't work unless the tone pot is turned ?? I've checked all the ground with a Multi meter and they all go to zero when touched ?? anyone any ideas before I take the guitar apart ?

This is the way I do most of my wiring and it's build No 19 and never had this problem before ?? all ways a first time ?
Good get David
Excellent observation. I blew up the photo and I think you nailed it. The center lug of the pot looks like it's shorting to the back of the pot via the leg of the cap. Easy to check. Just pull the cap up so it is clear an re-check.
No it's ok I checked it's not touching ? I re -did all the solder joints and it's ok now ?
that looks ok to me Kid,check joints, then next is probably a bad pot, does the volume change when you have full tone, and move volume pot?I'm not the full bottle on electrics, but if i was to do an elimination exercise,i'd probably start with the cap, then the vol pot
A photo of the way you have it wired would really help.
This is the one I use:
Without a diagram or pics, that sounds like your vol output is going to the tone pot, then back through vol pot,or maybe vol to tone to jack,on my builds, the only wire that goes to jack is middle lug from vol pot, plus ground of course
can you show the way you have it wired?
