Hi everyone,
My name is John, I'm a new poster here so hi. I have been a lover of blues and cigar box music for some time now, favs include Albert King, Buddy Guy, Carl Perkins, BWJ and more recently the great Seasick Steve. Am also a lover of Led Zep, Hendrix, Stones, John Martyn, John Butler etc, plus some reggae and soul in there too. I am not a beginner on guitar but have never really thought about playing a cigar box guitar until recently and have decided to follow it up. I am a cabinet maker by trade and reckon I could probably put myself together a pretty tidy looking one with some practise. I am currently attempting my first steely. However, before I start my cigar box, I wanted to have a little go putting 3/4 strings on one of my electrics or acoustics and trying it out first to see whether playing this would keep me interested for some time-I'm sure it would! I wondered if anyone could put together a list of tunes which I can learn, preferably using tabs found here on the world wide web, to get me going. Like I say, I am not a beginner but the tunes do not have to be complicated, in fact a good range of difficulties and styles would be preferred. I see a few tutorial videos have been put on here so will give those a go, and any other tips would be greatly appreciated.
I look forward to hearing back from anyone and getting to know all of you
Cheers,
John
