  • Well, typical American, I didn't even check to see where you lived! Some help I am.
  • bert, I've been going around all my local charity shops looking for a decent box. There a decent source. I'm thinking of getting an old wooden jewelry box and using that, its only about 2 quid.
  • That's a bigger than average cigar box. Should work really well unless the wood is too heavy. Pricey with shipping to the UK, but I hear it's hard to get them there so you may be stuck with that..

So Bert, you're from the UK I see. Great! We in the states usually get them from local cigar stores or other tobacconists. I'm sure you would have the same in the UK. There are also resources like ebay whereby you can find great boxes but they would be a little pricey. I get mine for $2-$5 US (~3.5-8 euro). First off, there is no standard for box sizes to be used so use what you can find. Usually something in the size of an Arturo Fuente or Punch box (not exact but close) is used. Take a look at Shane's or Brian Lemin's plans in the PLANS section above.

Also there are a LOT of folks in the UK in this site who can give you resources locally to you. Suggestion: take a gander at the pictures section (8000+ pics). That will give you some ideas of the box types.

    Good luck.

  • Welcome!

Ebay has plenty, but you'll have to pay for shipping, and some folks charge for more than standard postage.

Be sure you've checked all local smoke shops and maybe even liquor stores. I much prefer to pick out my boxes by hand, unless I know what I'm looking for.
