OK, when wiring my peizo transducer, is OK to use wire from an old pair of head phones or do I need to go get some special kind of wire? Ya see? I'm an artist and love the art of these things but I have no experience in the mechanics of wiring or how to get the right sound or anything LOL Kinda of a dork in that area LOL Again, thanks so much to everyone who has given me so much help. I honestly appreciate it very much. BigB

  • Very cool!! I've switched to having the lids on the back side so I can leave the hinges and latches in place - this way I don't even have to pull the strings off to mess with the electronics.

    Thanks Jon,
Actually on my first build I used duct tape to seal up the box because I knew I'd be taking it apart and putting it back together more than a few times LOL
  • now THIS is RAW! Build on!

  • NO! You used up your two free questions three questions ago. Read the Terms of Service. Now go away.

I recon any wire will do so long as it isn't 12/3 romex. I've used Cat6 wire before (one or two pairs from a length).

So long as you can solder to it, you should be ok.

  • I used the cord from a busted cell phone charger inside my last piezo build - worked just fine to my ears. Headphone wire might be a bit smaller than that, but it's worth a try. Just remember to screw your box together instead of glueing it so you have easy access to the insides if it doesn't work out the way you want it to the first time. :)
