Just being silly, but I had to brag a little about this. As some of you might or might not know, I've been devoting serious time to learning how to play the guitar. I have two guitars that I keep at standard tuning and one that I tune open by ear.
So I'm learning this new Fred McDowell song tonight, and the first thing the guy tells me is to tune my guitar to open D. He plucks each string on his guitar and I follow along to see how I need to adjust. Keep in mind, I had tuned my guitar earlier just by ear (listening for each string to just sound correct).
Believe it or not, each of my strings was dead on to what he had with no need to adjust at all. No bullshit. My ear must be better than I thought.
