Hi, can anyone suggest what four strings to use from a pack of six, and what tunings are best? I just finished my first build, an acustic electric one. Thanks for the help.

"It depends", mostly on what kind of sound you are looking for. I've used the lowest four on one build where I was looking for a really deep sound, and the highest four on one I wanted to play like a tenor guitar / baritone uke. Next build I will likely use the middle four, a la Keith Richards.
On both of my existing four-stringers, I move back and forth between the "standard" tunings for them and various open tunings (better for slide, at least for me). At the moment, the "low" one is D-A-D-F#, while the high one is D-G-B-D.
